so i ordered some stuff the other day and got the UPS tracking number. and of course you know when you have a tracking number you gotta check it every couple hours just to see where your goodies are. at least i do.

much to my surprise it said my goodies were delivered about a year ago to someone in alabama!!!

i figure its a typo and contact the company. they reply that UPS has been "recycling" tracking numbers. i google about it and find out that yes UPS is reusing them. they're something like 20 characters long and in one year they need to reuse numbers?

that in and of itself isnt so bad, but that i can see who signed for that previous one and when it was delivered. nothing terribly telling, but shouldn't stuff like that be wiped before "recycling"???? but then again there is no password or anything in tracking numbers, i suppose i could script something to hammer through the numbers sequentially and kill some curious cats. wheeeeee!

here's an 18 minute documenatary on bhutan's recent transition from tv-less monarchy to democracy, it's definately worth the watch. he talks about how the country's measure of success is the "gross national happiness" as opposed to everywhere else using the gross national product. more places need to use that measure. it paints an interesting picture of change and how people react to it.

so i had to forgo DEMF this year for lack of funds. i probably could have afforded a weekend pass and had change leftover for a dr. pepper..... meh

so today i get my "economic stimulus check" and could now probably afford the weekend. but everyone is already up there thats going and is probably too late for last minute plans like this. bah humbug. why couldnt it have gotten here yesterday? or better yet thursday.

and what exactly is the economy stimulus check going to do? magically fix our tanking economy? how is the already heavily indebted federal government cutting 300-600$ checks??? it seems like a really hairbrained idea to me, and i'm bad with money. not that i'm complaining about not being broke... damn. i want to go to DEMF. damn damn damn.....
