a few things i missed in my last post.

within minutes of leaving the hotel and before even getting to the gate, a bum asked me for a quarter for the bus. almost every year i get asked that. once i got asked for a dollar for a cab, and asked a few times for a buck or so to help make some 'random' purchases.

have i mentioned i'm so over minimal type techno?

we took the craziest taxi ride ever to the afterhours. driver had a blinking binkie in his mouth, was playing gangsta rap blasting out the factory system singing along, plus ran every stop sign and 2 red lights that i saw. he tended to stop at lights with women around. lets see. handcuffs and a garter belt hanging from the rear view mirror. niiiiiice.....!!! bill, eric, and jessica cut out around 6-7am and oddly the same taxi driver had just pulled up in front of the venue!

again, the "kill your tv" party was off the chain. we got there a little after midnight and seemed slow the first hour or 2. picked up pretty quick. tapered off around 6. and by 8 was mostly around 20-30 people in the basement with a vibe so thick it slapped you in the face. talked to a few pretty cool people down in there, and there were a few good dancers. this girl maryanne i met got a chuckle out of me saying "i almost danced".... just couldn't get the legs into it.

mike grant was dope. i guess he was a house dj and been around for awhile, but he played some zarkin aggressive techno.

when you spend a few hours in a cave, the sun is not your friend. when we walked out the door at 10:30am onto the street, we all covered our eyes and i screamed about the goddamn sun, and 3 homeless guys saw us and laughed their asses off. then josh whacked his head into a street sign. its a dangerous place out there!

chilled at josh's hotel with bill and maryanne until he kicked out out onto the mean streets of detroit, a horrible 5 minute walk from our hotel. at which point it was pack and get out, we had a 1pm checkout time.

back to the festival and mostly sat in one spot for hours because my right side (kidney) was killing me. after like 4 hours it was mostly gone and we took off. minimal techno was just too boring to stick around. esp since i hadda work today. my body still needs another day or 2 recovery time. also lost most of my voice. fun fun.... detroit like a motherfukka!!!!
